Architects deserve models that accelerate their work

Architects deserve existing conditions models that accelerate their work, not models that force them into days of cleanup before design can even begin. Yet much of the industry still relies on a mass‑modeling approach that treats every wall, floor, and assembly as a generic placeholder. It may look complete at first glance, but the burden is pushed directly onto the architect.

Someone on the design team ends up spending 40 to 60 hours reclassifying walls, correcting floor interactions, and untangling inconsistencies that should never have been there in the first place.

Constructability matters

How our competition models is very clear in the Building Section view:
  • They model for mass, while we model for constructability.
  • Their floors float while our floors bear on the walls.
  • Their entire building bears on their basement slab, while our slab is modeled inside of the foundation walls as it would be constructed in real life.
  • What are the wall assemblies in their model made of?  They provide generic dimensions to the nearest 1/2″, then and then perhaps specify an exterior material for 3D graphics.
  • Our models utilize our knowledge of Architecture, Engineering, and Construction methods and materials throughout history to estimate what best fits the volume of the specific assembly, based on when the building was constructed.
How our competition models In Plan view:
  • Our competition uses generic walls sized to the nearest 1/2″ of the volume.  Where assemblies change, they just add an extra wall to thicken that area.
  • Modeling with materials and constructibility in mind, allows our deliverable to align more closely with realistic existing site conditions.  This gives our clients more confidence in the model they receive, fewer surprises, and less time diagnosing what they are now working with.  We spend the time so you don’t have to.

Wall types are assigned based on real construction logic

Our approach is intentionally different. We do not model buildings as abstract geometry. We model them as they were actually built. Wall types are assigned based on real construction logic. Floor systems are represented according to how they truly interact with brick, timber, or steel. In vintage structures, where nothing is uniform and every decade of construction leaves its own fingerprint, this level of attention is not optional. It is the only way to produce a model that can be trusted.

Comparison

The difference becomes even more obvious when comparing the two approaches side by side. Generic wall assemblies tell you almost nothing about how the building stands. Our assemblies show the real logic of the structure.

Generic floors float past masonry without regard for bearing conditions. Our floors tie into brick and structure the way the building actually behaves.
